“The Nature of Mind” Monthly Day Retreat 

The monthly day retreats in Birmingham are the foundation and heart of the group whereby those dharma practitioners who feel committed to the group make every effort to attend regularly. We meet at the Friends House on the last Saturday of the month with the day consisting of periods of meditation plus a dharma talk followed often by Q&As. The talk focuses not just on our experiences of our meditation practice but more crucially on how to bring the training into daily life thus creating the spiritual environment for the dharma to arise and transform.

The venue is located in a quiet residential road two minutes walk from the beautifully maintained Kings Heath Park. We have sole use of the premises that contains a spacious reception area, one large and one smaller room, a large kitchenette and toilets. There is a garden to the rear and plenty of parking for cars.

For those that cannot travel on the day it is usually possible to provide free overnight accommodation. Email: Āloka aloka@dharmamind.net or phone him on 07905630322 to arrange the stay.

Tea and biscuits will be provided as usual but remember to bring your own vegetarian lunch. The cost for the day will be £20 and £15 concession.


Turn at the main traffic lights into Vicarage Road off the main Alcester Road and take the third left (opposite the main gate to Kings Heath Park) into Colmore Road. The Meeting House is just around the first corner on the right.
